Nicole Marie

Lecturer

Nicole Marie is a documentary photographer based on Wathaurong country in Geelong, Victoria, Australia.

She aims to live lightly and respectfully on this country, creating and sharing authentic, diverse and inclusive stories — stories that recognise and appreciate the strange and awesome circumstances of being human, that amplify marginalised voices and connect us as stronger communities, and that carry a heartbeat and a twist in the telling.

Through her photography, she experiments and innovates — with approach, layout, alternative processes and exhibition venues. Nicole also teaches photography and visual storytelling, and values the exchange of inspiration and energy that comes with working alongside her students. For her, sharing photography is a big part of its power and purpose.
